Update the Emotes?

Alrighty! I've got the new emotes set up and ready to use. Here they are, what's everyone think?




And, as a personal favor to the other two admins, SYNC and Tomyh, I've also kept the old emotes. I hope you guys appreciate it because it took me almost two hours struggling with this trash forum host's emote settings where I could have just deleted them all and uploaded the new ones in half hour.





As always, the emotes are "Open Source" so anyone can download the template and create their own that can be uploaded to the forum. I'll make a topic in art for it later.

Voted yes, though I dont think much of a change is needed, just a freshen up, like I mentioned in the other thread (in the announcements)

Aye, I won't be doing complete overhauls. Mostly just smoothing them a little so they look less jagged and pixel-based.

I voted no, I like most of the ones we have but maybe add some more?

I don't mean replace them or remove them, I mean update them. Here, I made these to kind of show as an example. I couldn't upload them at the time I posted this but here they are now.

They're just smoothed up versions of the existing emotes, same colors and everything.

Oh! Well, still a no for me, I'm sure others like it and it's good, but to me the pixel ones are better

I'm going to wait until we get a few more votes before doing anything more than the few I've made. Rather not spend the time making them and then have the idea voted out.

I think most people are gonna vote for the upgrade. Can I still use the pixel ones? It'll be harder but the other ones look kinda, well, blury. I know it;s 'smooth' but to me it looks blury, I like pixels.

Those are a massive improvement in my opinion Mike.

I'm going to go ahead and make the rest of the set tonight and post it here for peer review, make sure everyone is satisfied before I put them on.
And unfortunately, Casey, keeping the old emotes would lead to an extreme amount of clutter.
I am more than open to new emotes though. Pm me with your ideas and I'll make them as I do the set.

In case anyone is on the fence, I've gone ahead and done the simpler emotes. I'll go ahead and do the rest if the vote gets passed, but I figured those can wait since they'll probably take more work and there's a chance the vote could still fail.

And yes, I know the facepalm one is a little rough, I'll probably have to touch it up.

EDIT: And as with the previous emotes, they're completely "open source" so to speak. I'll release the .XCF (gimp) file with the emotes so anyone can edit them and make their own that, if nice, can be added to the forum.

I don't really use emotes, but creating them from fresh could be a good idea given the revival of this place you're working so hard to achieve Mike. Use these new emotes for deffo. I'll vote on the poll

Probably going to do a little flame one, possibly a red circle with a line through it (Like what they use to cross sh*t out), maybe some slightly animated ones? I dunno yet.
